Adaptive Navigation steps

At the top of the Adaptive Navigation tab is a list of the steps that help you reach a solution; the current step is highlighted.

Two types of steps may be available: Refine Steps (optional) and a single Goal Step (always included). Depending on your implementation, the Goal Step may be displayed as soon as you click the Adaptive Navigation tab.

Refine Steps

Each Refine Step enables you to make selection(s) from a Picklist of Adaptive Navigation concepts that match your search text and the selections you have made so far. You select the concepts that apply to your situation and move to another Refine Step until you reach the Goal Step.

The following functions may be available to make the selections and navigate through the steps:

Function	Description
Select/Deselect	Depending on the Picklist, you can select\deselect one Adaptive Navigation concept or as many as apply.
More/Less	If additional Adaptive navigation concepts or Solution documents are available, click More do display them. Click Less to reduce the list to the original number of displayed items.
Refine	When you examine a Picklist or a Solutions List, you may find that it has too many items or that most of the items do not apply to your situation. This can happen if you worded your initial question too broadly, resulting in a Picklist that covers a wide range of topics. To provide additional information about your situation and narrow the scope of the Picklist or Solutions List, under Refine Your Question,select an entry from the drop–down list and click Refine. Select "––>" if you do not want to use the filter.
Show Details	To display detailed information about an Adaptive Navigation concept or a Solution document, mouse over the item. A brief description of the item is displayed, the match type and indicators of relative strength may also be shown: Yellow—The text match, meaning the content of the item matches one or more words in your search text. Green—The experience match, meaning the selected item exists in a document with all of the other items you have selected. Blue—The fuzzy match, meaning the item exists in a document with SOME of the other items you have selected (there is at least one selected item that does not belong to a document with this one).
Continue/Back	To go to the next Refine Step, click Continue. To return to an earlier step, click Back.
View Document	The first document listed on the Solutions list is already displayed; this is the most relevant solution. To view another solution, click its title. For viewing actions, Viewing a document. When you view a solution, you can rate it, thus raising its relevance strength for future Adaptive Navigation searches.

Goal Step

In the Goal Step, the most likely solutions to your issue, based on the information you provided in the Refine Steps, are listed.
