Setting up LonWorks on a 7 Series Drive
Topic Description

Certain parameters must be set correctly when using the CM048 LonWorks option card on a 7 Series drive.

Resolution

Since the LonWorks (CM048) option utilizes the RS-485 connection to the drive, it is necessary to set the termination resistor to the ON position on each drive’s terminal assembly. Connect the LonWorks option communication cable to the drive as shown below and set the termination switch on

 Programming

Set the parameters to the value according to the table below:

Note: It is required to cycle power to the drive after changing any network communications settings.

Parameter Function Value Description
A1-01 Access Level 2 Advanced
b1-01 Reference Selection 21 Serial Comms (LonWorks)
b1-02 Operation Method Selection 21 Serial Comms (LonWorks)
H5-01 Serial Comms Address 1F 0-1F
H5-02 Serial Baud Rate 3 9600 baud (LonWorks)
H5-03 Serial Parity Select 0 None (LonWorks)
H5-06 Transmit Wait Time 5 5-65ms
H5-07 RTS Control Select 0 Disabled (LonWorks)
