Using Absolute vs Incremental Encoder Cables (Sigma-III and Higher) |

It is important to know the difference when selecting incremental or absolute encoder cables for servomotors. |

Both cable types (incremetal or absolute) come with same number of wires. The absolute cable (with the battery case) has the battery connected to the two battery terminals (BAT+ and BAT-). An example of wiring is shown below:

Note: The installation must have only 1 battery source supplying power to an absolute encoder motor. |
