A capacitive input filter can be used to help protect a VFD from voltage transients and spikes, and even help reduce radio frequency interference and electrical noise. This device utilizes three capacitors arranged in a delta configuration and three capacitors arranged in a wye configuration.

• This capacitive input filter is not meant for reducing harmonic distortion.

Yaskawa only offers a capacitive input filter as an added option to certain bypass and configured units. The part number for this filter is 05P00325-0023 and is manufactured by MTE Corporation (MTE part # M-1786). This capacitive input filter can be used with 200V, 400V, and 600V class units.
