Basic Wiring for Single Phase Converter (SPC) to a P1000, iQpump1000 or A1000 drive
Topic Description

The Single Phase Converter (SPC) allows three-phase variable frequency drives to operate on a single-phase power source. The converter accepts single-phase input power and outputs a DC power supply to the drive. Additionally, the SPC eliminates the need to oversize variable frequency drives for single-phase applications. Power source distortion is reduced to less than 10% iTHD and faults are automatically reset with the SPC's factory default settings.

Resolution

When using a Single Phase Converter (SPC) a reactor must be also installed as well. The following provides a basic drawing for the Single Phase Converter (SPC), reactor and the drive.

  1. Connect the reactor to terminals +4 and +5 of the Single Phase Converter.
Note: The DC link choke terminals are not polarized and can be connected to either terminal

  2. Connect the Single Phase Converter terminal (and + 1)  to the DC bus terminal (- and + 1) of the Yaskawa Drive.
Note: On the smaller Yaskawa drives, DO NOT REMOVE factory jumper on +1 and +2 terminals.

  3. Connect main circuit power lines to the converter (R/L1 and S/L2).
