Using an HOA Switch with PID Control (AUTO) and a Speed Potentiometer (HAND) |

An external HOA (Hand-Off-Auto) switch can be used with certain drive models where AUTO mode selects PID control (PI control), HAND mode selects a potentiometer (speed pot) as the frequency reference, and OFF stops all output from the drive. This applies to the following industrial drive models:
Note: A DPDT (double pole double throw) switch or additional contacts are needed for this to work properly. |

Set the following parameters when using an HOA switch for PID control (AUTO) and a potentiometer (HAND).
Refer to the example diagrams below for wiring an HOA switch using digital input terminals S1 and S3 depending on the drive model.
