Procedure for Adding an Add-On Database into DriveWizard
Topic Description

A DriveWizard Add-On Database (or add-on file) is necessary to be able to communicate to a drive which has special firmware (e.g. OV Suppression, Motion Control, Traverse) using DriveWizard Industrial or DriveWizard HVAC.

  • Note: Not all special or custom firmware has an Add-On Database. 

Resolution

Follow the steps below to obtain and install an Add-On Database for use with DriveWizard Industrial or DriveWizard HVAC. 

Note: It is recommended to update to the latest version of DriveWizard before installing an Add-On Database.

  1. Search Yaskawa.com for the desired Add-On Database. Certain Add-On Databases are only available while signed in with a Partner Login. 
    Example: Search "add-on database ov" for the OV Suppression database file.

     
  2. Select the Add-On Database link in the search results to open the file details.

     
  3. Select the file name to download the file and save to a desired location.

     
  4. Open DriveWizard Industrial or DriveWizard HVAC and select Open Project or Open (upper left corner).

     
  5. Find the Add-On Database file previously downloaded. Highlight the file and select Open.

     
  6. When prompted to import the selected file, select Yes.

     
  7. When prompted to restart the DriveWizard program, select Yes.

     
  8. Verify the Add-On Database file was successfully installed. Under the Home tab, select Options and then the Data tab. Navigate to the software installed based on the Drive Series.
